About the event
What does modern western science tell us about the nature of reality and the way we perceive it? What does eastern contemplative science tell us on the same topics? Do we hear two different stories or a similar one in two different languages?
Salvatore is a western scientist: he was awarded a PhD by ETH Zürich in 2011 after his studies in aerospace engineering. In parallel, he personally conducted studies in modern physics, neuroscience and psychology.
Practical experiences in his extreme sports career led him to the path of meditation and the study of Buddhist texts. He received many precious teachings from different lineages within Tibetan Buddhism and putting them into practice is an organising principle of his life.
In this talk, Salvatore draws parallels between modern science models and ancient meditation wisdom.
We will see how these two worlds are only apparently separated and in reality they have an astonishing amount of findings in common. This lecture has already been given in a number of ETH events and always gained great interest and stimulated the mind of many. We will hear about quantum physics, theory of relativity, neuroscience, buddhist emptiness and more all expressed in a friendly way and presented for a broad interdisciplinary audience. The talk is for everyone who has interest in science, spirituality and connections!
